Chacha or Georgian vodka is a drink belonging to the Brandy class. Chacha is a strong alcoholic drink that is made from grape pulp (a solid fraction of grapes) after fermentation and distillation. Sometimes fruit is used to make Chacha. Good Chacha has a tart soft taste, which makes drinking this drink quite easy even despite the high strength. Characteristic of Chacha is the raisin aftertaste and grape aroma. Chacha in Georgia is more of an aperitif. In the west of Georgia, it is customary to eat sweet chacha, for example, churchkhela, in the east – pickles. Chacha is suitable for all dishes of Georgian cuisine-both appetizers and hot dishes.
